Nate Swanson is an award-winning photographer currently working as photo editor for the independently student-run newspaper, The Post, after working as staff photographer and as a photo stringer for the publication in previous years.
His life is split between two regions: the sprawling metropolitan rooftops around the Windy City and in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains where he attends Ohio University, currently working toward a Bachelors of Science in Visual Communication. He is always curious about the world around him and with his lens, has the ability to portray how he observes his environment in both places where he can call home.
Nate Swanson's debut with photojournalism began with documenting ALSO's (Alliance of Local Service Organizations) 20th Annual Walk for Peace in the Humboldt Park and Logan Square neighborhoods in Chicago as part of his Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project in the summer of 2015. Since then, he has held a passion for storytelling and documenting human life and condition as he sees it in the community and this world.
